Ponygirl!

- by Stasya T. Canine

(As recited by Bill, dancing with Cora)

A rhythm as complex
As the intertwining of our hearts
Is given a voice
As her hooves slam the stage.

Ponygirl!

Her neck arches
Her mane flails wildly
Her tail is held high
As her joy shakes the stage.

Ponygirl!

My feet weave a quieter
But insistent counterpoint
That tells
Of our oneness.

Ponygirl!

Her movements slow
And become
The thundering voice
Of a summer storm.

Ponygirl!

My own movements
Quicken, soften
And become
The gentle patter of rain.

Ponygirl!

Together we slow
Her hooves fall silent
My feet are still
The storm has passed.

Ponygirl!
