A Pony Girl Story

It is believed Queen Nefertiti of Ancient Egypt owned several young pony girls, whom it is said, she treated very well and who were themselves well rewarded. Cleopatra too was said to have owned a pony slave-girl, who was also one of her favourite handmaidens! So it seemed some pony girls were in fact respected and valued. So for your enjoyment I have decided to write a short pony girl story that may give you some idea of what a pony girl of this time may have been like. The Queen Nofrette is fictional, but the period chosen was real enough. As a matter of interest the fictional Queen’s name was in fact also one of the names of the real Queen Nefertiti as well! This is a fictional story, but almost certainly based on truth!

Chapter 1

Ancient Egypt. Middle Kingdom.

Shula enjoyed her pony girl role. As the young Queen’s favourite handmaiden, she did not feel any shame or disgrace in her pony girl role, indeed she considered it to be a great honour, and enjoyed showing off to the public in the marketplace. Queen Nofrette, was just eighteen when she took the throne of Ancient Egypt, following the premature demise of The Pharoah.

Shula just a few weeks older, was a palace slave-girl, but her loyalty and friendship had already won her the most converted of all positions, that of favourite handmaiden to Queen Nofrette herself!

Shula was no stranger to the pony girl role, indeed she had once hauled salt in a mine when just sixteen for one of her former slave masters, but had been rescued by the intervention of one of the Queens priests on a visit to Thebes where she was found being ill treated. He had brought her back, still a slave, and gave her as a gift to the young Queen,

Quickly Shula had won the queen over and soon became her most loyal and trusted servant. She had heard that Nofrette had a pony girl fantasy, and indeed it was she who first suggested she would be willing to be a pony girl for the young queen if she so wished. At first Nofrette was doubtful, after all no ruler of Egypt had ever before had humans pull him or her through the streets, but after a while she thought the idea worth trying. Shula herself designed her own harness and bridle, and to show she was not just a mere slave, but a royal one, the queen made her wear a jewelled ornamental neck collar, one only she could remove!

So on a sunny morning just before the market was at fully swing, Shula trotted out of the palace gates, pulling the gold ceremonial chariot, with the young Queen of Egypt, Nofrette, standing up inside, holding the reigns in one hand and a silken thronged whip in the other.

Even the palace guards, themselves used to almost everything, stood more in amazement and wonder as the chariot passed through the gates, drawn by the near naked, harnessed and head plumed handmaiden, Shula! Smiling the young queen brought the silk whip across Shula’s bare back, urging her to trot faster!

The whip did not actually hurt Shula, it was too soft to even leave a mark, but Shula responded as if it had! The guards assigned to protect her when she went out had to run to catch up with the speeding chariot, for Shula was trotting along at quite a fast pace, seemingly unbothered by the not inconsiderable weight of pulling the golden chariot and the queen behind her!

But soon the sweat was dripping from her body, making her semi-nude body seem to glisten golden in the harsh sunlight. The young queen pulled on the reigns and Shula responded by returning to a more leisured and sedate high stepping walking pace, so at last the bodyguards could finally catch up!

Shula smiled secretly to herself, she had never before seen the guards having to run after their Queen, almost in a panic! She wondered if they were sweating more than she was after all THEY had clothing, and weapons to carry, SHE did not!

To be continued.
