Chapter 36.

Raul walked out in front of them and raised his arm. "Get ready, set, go."

Virgina was ready but she still wanted to run not trot. Marcella had her hands full as she held her to a trot. The constant pull on the bit in her mouth along with the stings of the whip on her rump reminded Virgina to trot. Side by side the sulky’s raced. PonyGirl’s long auburn mane and tail flowing, her long legs flashing, as her steel horseshoes rang a perfect rhythm on the pavement. Virgina fell into rhythm with PonyGirl and kept pace with the clop as she matched her step for step.

The two miles down wasn’t all that bad for Virgina. It was when they were turning around at the end when she fell behind. Her legs were tiring. As hard as she tried she couldn’t keep up the pace nor the rhythm as PonyGirl headed back to the barn. Every time Virgina started to lurch into a run, she was reined in and felt the sting of the whip as Marcella called out to her to trot.

Her mind was focused on only one thing. Catch up with PonyGirl and win this race. Nothing else was in her mind as she trotted down the highway, her own steel horseshoes ringing a different tempo than the PonyGirl.

Virgina was blocks behind and didn’t believe her eyes when PonyGirl bolted at the finish line and ran. Virgina knew she had won the race even if she was behind. She proudly trotted up to the house and stopped knowing she would get hosed down to cool her off and her mane brushed.

"Why did you do that? We had the race won. She has two more points. I can’t believe you ran at the end." Sharra was addressing PonyGirl as she hosed her down.

"You’re a bad PonyGirl. Just for that I’m going to put you on the walker. You can trot for another hour so you will learn how to trot without running." Sharra led PonyGirl over to the walker and snapped a chain on her bridle before walking back to the porch and flipping the switch.

The walker started up and PonyGirl dutifully trotted behind it pulling the empty sulky, her long tail swishing.

Virgina thought she saw PonyGirl grin but probably not. Marcella led Virgina back into the barn before she hobbled her and unhooked the sulky. "Oats and water in the bowls."

Virgina minced over to the trough, leaned over and slurped up water without even thinking about it.

Chapter 37.

"I thought we agreed you wouldn’t do that."

Virgina awoke to see Sharra and Marcella looking at her.

"I never agreed and she does look more like a true PonyGirl." Marcella smiled at Virgina.

Virgina got a sick feeling way down in the pit of her stomach as she felt it swishing back and forth. She turned to look over her shoulder and let out a gasp. She had a beautiful tail like PonyGirl only hers was golden. It was fascinating to see it swish back and forth and know it was hers. Then she had a second thought. She leaned over to the side and looked down at her feet. She had hooves like PonyGirl and they weren’t boots. She looked at Marcella, pleading with her eyes.

"You should have beat PonyGirl and I think it was because you weren’t a proper PonyGirl yourself. Now you are just a little closer. We have two more races today. You need to win both of them or you will be PonyGirl for the rest of your life. The effect isn’t reversible after four days." Marcella took the hobbles off Virgina and led her over to the sulky. Virgina let her tail swish so she wouldn’t step on it as Marcella backed her in between the rails.

Virgina was fascinated as her hips swayed to an opposite rhythm of her tail. She tried to make it stop and managed for a few seconds. She could feel it softly brushing the back of her legs as it swished from side to side. The race was two miles down and two back. Virgina kept up with PonyGirl all the way until they were only a block from the finish line when PonyGirl pulled ahead. Then PonyGirl stumbled before the finish line and Virgina raced across first.

Virgina was tired but her tail was swishing happily back and forth as she trotted off toward the house and her cooling off.

Chapter 38.

"I think she stumbled on purpose." Marcella was looking over at Sharra and Donna.

Sharra shook her head. "I don’t think so. She seemed to catch her shoe on a rough spot on the pavement."

"If she’s throwing the races to let Virgina win so that bitch can get out of here then I’ll make sure both of them live out their lives as PonyGirls."

"I don’t think Roger would do that. Remember how the bitch treated him in New York? Then when he finally sold his PonyGirl story she slapped a lawsuit on him. He hated her. I don’t think he would throw the races so the bitch could win and leave."

Virgina had awakened and was listening to the voices outside the barn. She took a good look at PonyGirl sleeping a few yards away inside the barn. Could it be possible the creature was Roger…? Damn, what was the name of that guy who walked into her publishing company with a PonyGirl story? She stared at the PonyGirl. Was it possible? Why would he be willing to be PonyGirl for the rest of his life to let her escape? Did he really want to be PonyGirl or could there possibly be another reason? No, the other choice was too far out to be imagined. But her imagination couldn’t ever dream up being trapped as PonyGirl either. Surely he wouldn’t forsake his freedom to let her go because he didn’t want her hurt? Were there really people like that in this world? Virgina had always thought of it as a dog eat dog world and the losers were just that, losers.

"I’m going to be watching real close the next two races. If either one looks suspicious then they will both be PonyGirls for the rest of their lives."

"That’s fair enough but I’m telling you, Roger would love to see the bitch remain as PonyGirl. He’s not losing on purpose. Those two races where he bolted and ran, he was excited about winning and forgot PonyGirls don’t run."

It was Roger! Impossible as it was to believe, it was that guy with the PonyGirl story. Virgina stared at PonyGirl and her heart went out to her. She was positive he didn’t want to be PonyGirl the rest of his life any more than she did but he was willing to do that to let her go. Maybe God did make a few people like that in the world?

Chapter 39.

Donna was driving PonyGirl and Marcella had Virgina as they trotted them out of the barn. Again it was the four-mile race. Two down and two back to the finish line. Virgina managed to keep the rhythm and tempo going with PonyGirl as they raced down to the flags. Their long manes and beautiful tails ripping in the breeze with each step. Virgina also managed to keep up all the way back.

Before they got to the finish line, Marcella flicked Virgina on the rump with the whip. "Lively now."

Donna did the same with PonyGirl. "They aren’t winning this one. Put your heart into it."

Vigina had an extra hustle at the finish line. PonyGirl just couldn’t seem to make her long legs trot any faster and she fell a couple inches behind Virgina before the finish.

Donna flicked PonyGirl on the rump as they headed toward the house. "That’s for not putting a little more into it. We should have won."

Vigina was positive of it now. PonyGirl was letting her win. She could see it in her eyes at the finish line. There was a hint of a smile. PonyGirl was lucky Marcella and that other witch couldn’t see her eyes or they would both be PonyGirls for the rest of their lives.

After cooling them off, the PonyGirls were led back to the barn where they were brushed down and allowed to drink. After the witches left, Virgina looked over at PonyGirl and could see her eyes gleaming. She knew, one more race and Virgina would be set free.

Chapter 40.

The sun had set when Donna and Marcella walked into the barn and hitched up the PonyGirls. Donna led PonyGirl to the door before she stepped over the rail of the sulky and slid up into the seat. She picked up the whip and PonyGirl felt the sharp sting on her rump as the whip cracked.

"I’m going to make sure you understand you don’t lose this race. Let’s go out to the road." Donna snapped the whip and again PonyGirl felt the sting on her rump as she trotted out to the road.

Virgina’s heart went out to PonyGirl with each crack of the whip. She knew what that felt like and it hurt like hell. The witches were punishing PonyGirl for losing.

They lined up on the pavement and the race was on. Virgina and PonyGirl were surprised when they had run two miles out. There wasn’t a flag beside the road and the trainers were urging them on without letting them turn around. It seemed like they had trotted forever before they saw a flag beside the road and finally turned for the final lap back to the finish line. Virgina wasn’t sure if it was another mile or six miles but it was sure to be a test of endurance before she made it back.

Long before they ever came close to the finish line, both PonyGirls were faltering in their steps. They were bone tired and exhausted to the extreme. Those whips were a painful reminder to keep trotting even though they felt each step was their last. Virgina finally saw it and focused on the finish line. Each step was robotic as she no longer willed her legs to move but they moved because they were supposed to. Yards from the finish line, PonyGirl faltered and Virgina was ahead. PonyGirl caught her step and was only inches behind when Virgina faltered and PonyGirl won by inches.

Virgina was too tired to know if she had done it on purpose or if it was truly an accident. She only knew tired and thirst and nothing else. She knew was destined to live her life as a PonyGirl with Roger.

Donna and Marcella reined their PonyGirls into the yard and hosed them down before leading them back into the barn. Both PonyGirls headed for the water as quickly as they could. Virgina no longer cared what anyone thought as she slurped up her water and quenched her parched throat.

Chapter 41.

The sun had been up for a long time when Virgina opened her eyes. Donna, Sharra, Marcella, and Raul were talking among themselves. They looked in her direction from time to time.

Raul nodded to the others before he walked over to Virgina and removed the bridle. "We know you stumbled on purpose just as Roger ran or stumbled those previous races to let you win. The contest was real but there could be two winners, or one winner, and one loser. Roger wasn’t going to be a PonyGirl forever no matter what the outcome. Changing him into PonyGirl didn’t come from the magic in the bridle. However your bridle holds magic that changed you into PonyGirl. It will change anyone who puts it on. PonyGirl and the spell will be permanent if they wear it more than four days or ninety-six hours. If they wear it past that time limit they will remain PonyGirl with or without the bridle in their mouth."

Virgina looked around for PonyGirl and didn’t see her. Had they changed her back to Roger already or…? She looked down at her hooves before turning to look at her tail. If the bridle was removed why wasn’t she changed back and why couldn’t she speak?

"There is a residual effect of magic. The longer it is applied then the longer it takes to disappear. That’s why there is a four-day limit. You will change back but it won’t be all at once. I’m not sure how long it will take. Probably not more than a few days more or less." It was as if Raul had read Virgina’s mind and answered her thoughts.

Virgina nodded as she looked down at the hobbles.

"Okay. Let me warn you, if you run into town like this they will probably lock you up in some government project and you’ll never see daylight again." Raul stooped down and removed the hobbles. He stood up and removed the locks holding Virgina’s wrists to her breasts.

"You’re free to do what you want until the effects wear off. If you want to run to town then that’s up to you. It’s ten miles down the pavement due east. I’m sure you can trot all the way as your legs have built up to trotting for miles." Raul waited to see if Virgina was going to trot to town.

Virgina shook her head. She understood it would be impossible to tell those people what had happened. Even if she lost the horsetail, the hooves weren’t exactly believable.

"I see. Do what you want then. You’re welcome in the house. Be careful with your tail though." Raul and the others walked out of the barn to the house.

Virgina was at a loss. She wanted to find Roger and see how he was. She trotted outside and looked around. PonyGirl wasn’t to be found.

Donna came out of the house carrying some clothes. "The sun will bake your skin if you go running off. Put these on."

Virgina felt uncomfortable wearing a sombrero, blouse, and pants. Especially the pants with the back cut out of them so her tail could hang out and swish.

Donna pointed off toward some low hills after Virgina was dressed. "PonyGirl trotted off that direction with Pal. Pal is the black stallion you have been sharing the barn with. Roger is still PonyGirl the same as you. You’ll find her out there studying the desert."

Virgina wondered what one could find to study in the desert? It was nothing but cactus and sand. She turned and trotted off to find PonyGirl and her black horse.

Chapter 42.

Sharra was packing her things when Donna walked back into the house. "You leaving already?"

"I have other things to take care of. Virgina will publish Roger’s PonyGirl stories unless she changes her mind when she gets back to New York." Sharra closed the lid on her suitcase and turned to hold her hand out to Marcella. "Thanks for everything. I don’t know if I would have added the hooves and tails but it worked out."

Marcella laughed as she took Sharra’s hand, pulled her in, and gave her a hug. Susan, you are learning a lot and I’m sure Morgan is proud of you. A few more years and you won’t need our help. Morgan says you lifeshift on your own now."

Sharra hugged Marcella before she backed out of her embrace. "I manage the simple things. Lifeshift isn’t complicated. I’m not making or unmaking anything. All I have to do is change the body form."

Marcella gave Donna a wink before she turned her attention back to Sharra. "I better send out my resume. You’ll be replacing me before too long. When you understand all magic is no more than a state of mind and there is no hard ones or easy ones and it’s all the same, I’ll be looking for another job."

Sharra giggled as she walked over and gave Donna a hug. "Keep an eye on her Donna. Gods don’t take too kindly to being replaced. You know she’s thinking of putting the double whammy on me if she even suspected I was capable of a micro percentage of her powers."

Donna laughed as she pushed Sharra back and looked into her eyes. "Marcella may be an Inca Goddess but she doesn’t mind sharing the magic. Give me a lift back to the plane if you’re headed out."

"Sure, you ready?" Sharra picked up her suitcase.

Chapter 43.

"Raul, you didn’t get to drive a PonyGirl rig did you?" Marcella was looking over at her friend.

"No I didn’t." He sadly shook his head.

"Would you like to?" Marcella glanced over at Donna and Sharra.

"YOU WOULDN’T DARE!" Donna was staring back at Marcella.

Her red mane rippled in the breeze as her beautiful tail swished back and forth. Her golden chains jingled as her long legs lifted high into the air. She tried to keep her huge breasts from bouncing with each prancing step but it was impossible as she pushed her wrists up against the nipple rings they were chained to. Gold lace cups encased her huge breasts. The twelve-inch gold belt around her waist held the sulky rails. There was the crack of a whip and a sting on her ample rump reminding her to put more bounce in each prancing step as her hooves tapped a staccato rhythm on the pavement.

Behind her a black hair PonyGirl beauty was prancing as her steel horseshoes rang on the pavement. She too was trying her best to keep her huge breasts from bouncing with each step. It was impossible. She thought the long horsetail was the right idea after she was bequeathed with one. It felt right as it made her wide hips sway back and forth as it swished from side to side. Her impossibly small twelve-inch waist made her extra wide hips look even more exaggerated. She hoped Marcella and Raul didn’t think her long tail looked too right and leave her with one after they changed her back. She also hoped Donna and her didn’t have to prance the six miles they made Roger and Virgina trot. Her legs were getting tired, her breasts were sore, that whip Marcella seemed fond of using wasn’t a whole lot of fun when one was on the receiving end. She knew Marcella was reading her mind when there was a crack and she felt a sting on her rump.

Chapter 44.

Marcella was smiling as she watched the Lamborghini pull out of the driveway. Donna and Sharra were still PonyGirls with long manes, beautiful long tails, and hooves. Marcella promised they would change back. Donna’s change would be after she flew the jet back to New York and drove a rental car back to Atlanta. Susan’s or Sharra’s change would be after she had drove back to San Francisco. Susan didn’t think that was fair as she was going to have to gas up a several times before she arrived. Donna figured she might get some help changing back when she landed in New York. She knew most gods never became involved in another god’s perceived joke. There was a strong possibility she might be driving to Atlanta as a PonyGirl to end the spell.

There was no arguing with a goddess, especially when that goddess thought it was funny what she had done to them. Susan knew there were going to be some really shocked convenience store clerks before she made it back to San Francisco.

"Raul, I think Roger and Virgina have worked out their differences. You ready to go?"

A dust devil settled outside the front door. "If you don’t mind, I think I will hang around and keep an eye on our young PonyGirls until they change back to humans again."

Marcella walked out the front door and shook her finger at the dust devil. "You can’t fool me. You are enjoying looking at the PonyGirls and wishing you could keep them. How long you plan on making them stay as PonyGirls?"

"You know the residual effects of…," The dust devil answered.

"Residual effects my ass. There are no residual effects to magic. That bridle doesn't have any residual effect neither. I’m asking you again. How long you plan on keeping your PonyGirls?" Marcella put her hands on her hips.

"A week or two. I’ll let them change back to humans after two weeks." The dust devil was moving off to the desert where one PonyGirl was trotting out to find another.

"No funny stuff neither. They don’t keep their tails nor their hooves. I know you can hear me." Marcella called after the dust devil.

"We’ll see, we’ll see." The dust devil answered in her mind.

Chapter 45.

Marcella lowered her head and shook it. She could intervene but Raul didn’t get to play with humans that much. She would let him have his fun with the two PonyGirls for two weeks. All in all it wasn’t that bad of an idea. They would get to know each other even better than what they did now. They were beautiful creatures with their long flowing manes and beautiful tails. Marcella was sure they would play with the bridle after Raul changed them back to humans. They wouldn’t be able to resist being PonyGirl again and again as they pranced down the road, their hooves stamping out a rhythm on the pavement. The bridle was all they would need to change into PonyGirls with long flowing mane, hooves, and tail.

Marcella carried the second bridle out to the barn and placed it inside the box with the first one. She would check up on them from time to time. It was a pleasure to see such beautiful creatures enjoying what they were changed into. She knew Virgina and Roger would enjoy it very much. She placed a special spell on the bridles so the rings and chains would be added to PonyGirl when the bridle was placed into the mouth. And…, sure why not? Each time they changed, the PonyGirl spell would last at least forty-eight hours. Once the bridle in the mouth it couldn’t be removed until forty-eight hours had passed. Part of the spell was they could only prance. There would be no walking, trotting, or running for the PonyGirls from now on.

The idea was funny as she thought about it. She was positive the PonyGirls would panic the first couple of times they played with the bridles. She cupped her chin with her left hand and rested her left elbow in her right hand as she thought about it. One more small spell on the bridles would be her final joke. At random times when one put on a bridle they both would be transformed into PonyGirls harnessed into the sulkies.

Chapter 46.

Marcella walked out of the barn and looked off into the desert. She could see the dust devil kicking up dust as it disappeared over the far hill. She smiled as her form slowly changed to that of a winged unicorn. She spread her wings as she galloped toward the house. When it seemed as if she was going to go crashing through the house her wings carried her aloft. She soared up to the white fluffy clouds sprinkled in the blue sky. When she looked back down the PonyGirls had found one another. The white winged unicorn disappeared into the clouds.

The Unicorn was more interested in her other two young PonyGirls. Both girls were capable of magic. It wasn’t strong enough to break the PonyGirl spell Marcella cast on them but they were still quite powerful. She knew their powers would be greatly strengthened before the PonyGirl spell was broken if they remembered to use their magic. Both girls could make any normal human believe PonyGirls were a normal part of society if they used their powers.

Marcella had kept track of their thoughts. So far neither PonyGirl remembered they could use their magic to make humans think they were normal as PonyGirls. Up until now they were only desperately trying to figure out how to hide their PonyGirl bodies as they made their respective trips. Marcella watched as the PonyGirls slid out of the Lamborghini after Susan drove up to the parked jet. Their bridles had been replaced with halters so they wouldn’t have to contend with a bit in their mouths. The halters were the same as bridles without bits or reins. Gold chains were attached to the halters leading to the body rings the PonyGirls were still wearing. Every time they moved their gold chains jingled.

"Can’t you contact Morgan and have her change us back?" Donna fluffed out her long red tail after sitting uncomfortably on it in the car seat. She had pulled it up over her left shoulder along with her long red mane before sitting down but darn it, it was a tail and it still had a foot or longer stump all the hair was attached to and there was no way to sit comfortably. She couldn’t lean back against it even when she pulled it up over her shoulder. Those wide hips of hers spread out more than seat wide. Her huge breasts made it almost impossible to get in the darn car. There was just too damn much of her all over. Except for that impossibly small waist that is. A twelve-inch waist looked fine on Roger and Virgina but it was different when one had one of their own. Her tail was swishing, her hips gently swaying after she struggled out of the car.

"You don’t think I tried? We are on our own here. Gods don’t get involved in another’s joke. Marcella thinks this is a joke. She’s probably enjoying it to no end. I wouldn’t be surprised to find she was watching us right now." The beautiful black haired PonyGirl looked around to see if any object looked like it could possibly be a goddess in hiding. Her long tail swished side to side as her hips swayed in opposite movement.

Donna nodded in agreement, her halter chains softly jingling. She figured as much. "I don’t know why I have to be part of the joke? Changing Roger and Virgina into PonyGirls was your idea. You told me you enjoyed being PonyGirl when Roger put the bridle in your mouth. So why me?"

Susan shook her head and her golden chains jingled. "Who knows? Gods have their own sense of humor. Maybe it was when you were telling Marcella she wouldn’t dare, she decided to make us stay as PonyGirls until we made the trip. At least you get a decent seat. Look at me. I have to ride almost a thousand miles as PonyGirl in that damn bucket seat. My tail is sore already and we only drove twenty miles from Roger’s place. Besides, it wasn’t me who told a goddess, she wouldn’t dare."

Donna sighed. "Listen sweetheart, that jet has bucket seats too and they also are not designed for PonyGirl pilots. I also have rudders and toe brakes to contend with. They were designed for feet not hooves. If you think I’m looking forward to getting in that jet and flying two thousand miles then you are crazy. Remember, I have to drive to Atlanta after I get back to New York. Don’t tell me about your sore tail. That isn’t a tale I’m sympathetic to hearing."

That got Susan tickled and she was laughing as she looked back at the Lamborghini. "I’m sorry I dragged you into this mess because I asked you to help. Try and not shock too many people when you have to stop for gas and necessities."

Donna got tickled. She walked over to the jet and touched the latch to drop the landing door. A blast of hot desert air came swirling out of the jet as the landing door dropped. "I seem to have a desire to shock as many as I possibly can right now. Take care and don’t get tossed into jail or picked up. I’m not sure they are ready for PonyGirls to be running around in their world just yet."

Susan stood there looking at her car for a long time before she decided the trip had to begin before it would end and the spell broken. She pulled her mane up over her left shoulder and let it cascade across her ample left breast. She caught her tail and lifted it up over her left shoulder as she backed up squeezing her wide hips into the car. This was going to be one long painful trip she was sure. She was also sure she was going to have to make many frequent stops as she got out and trotted to remove the pain from setting. She knew she should have trotted before getting back into the car this time. She tried wiggling her ample butt in the seat to no avail. There was no wiggle room and her tail was hurting already again. She started up the car and headed toward the highway. Maybe she could make a hundred miles before she needed to get out and trot a block or two. Before she reached the highway she was thinking she might drive ten miles before she needed to get out and trot a mile. PonyGirls didn’t fit comfortably in seats. This was going to be one long trip!

Chapter 47.

Marcella laughed. She knew how uncomfortable the PonyGirls were. Their magic would make everything seem normal when they were out trotting to relieve their aching bodies or purchasing necessities. Would they remember to use their skills? The girls were thinking Marcella was playing a joke. When using magic became second nature to them they would become more powerful. That was what Marcella was trying to teach them. If they figured out this lesson, maybe in time the girls would figure out gods really didn’t mind sharing knowledge, power, and magic. Time would tell.

Marcella decided she better call for help with the PonyGirls splitting up. Seconds later she had returned to her human form and help arrived.

Morgan smiled as she stood on the fluffy cloud beside Marcella. "I will watch over Sharra or Susan. This won’t take long. She will put her mind to it before she has to get out of the car and stretch her legs."

"I’m thinking the Leprechaun will figure it out first. Donna has been using her powers most of her life. I’m a little disappointed she hasn’t already thought of it." Marcella glanced down at the jet moving side to side as it taxied to the end of the dirt runway. "She’s having a hard time controlling that plane with hooves instead of feet. Use your magical powers, girl."

"It’s the unusual circumstances you placed them in, Marcella. They have been too busy with their PonyGirl bodies to think rationally. That trick of making them think Raul wanted to go for a ride behind a PonyGirl rig was an inspiration. If you had changed them into PonyGirls and sent them on their way they would have already figured it out." Morgan stepped off the cloud. "I’m going to go riding on the top of a car for a little while. Keep track of the time and let me know when Donna figures it out. And, she will. Donna is terribly smart. She may beat Susan but maybe not. I’ll place my bet on Susan."

"And the bet is?" Marcella questioned her friend.

"Let’s see…, How about…, who ever is the last figuring it out, they and their guardian lose their powers and are changed into PonyGirls for a week?"

Marcella smiled at the bet. "Make it three weeks and you’re on. Morgan. I love you dearly. You and Susan are going to get awfully tired prancing around as PonyGirls before three weeks are up."

"Don’t count your PonyGirls before they happen, Marcella. I’m thinking you aren’t going to be nearly as fond of turning everyone into PonyGirls after three weeks in the harness yourself." Morgan was laughing as she disappeared.

Marcella laughed as she shook her head. A gold and silver inlaid bridle appeared in her hand. "This one is yours. Remember the bet was your idea, Morgan. You’ll look beautiful with your tail swishing as you pull your golden sulky."
