With the Kingdom of Hyrule now at peace, the royal family no longer had to worry about evil villains attempting to usurp their power. Eventually, Zelda grew up and ascended to the throne. She ruled fairly and justly, at least for a time. However, after a few short years, rumors began to circulate that Zelda had a notoriously bawdy side. Despite there being no villains to thwart, the hero Link always appeared exhausted when seen in public. Zelda eventually needed a new steed. She had long admired Link's horse, Epona, but she wanted a new one for herself. She had long suspected that Link's fidelity might be lacking, especially if she ever saw him and his friend Malon in the same company. She determined to make Malon her new pony...or ponygirl anyway.
